Flash Bang comes to Eisteddfod

Children visiting the National Eisteddfod will be treated to an exciting science show following support from electricity distribution company Western Power Distribution (WPD).

Visitors to the Science Pavilion at the Maes, in Festival Fields on the Millennium Coastal Park, will witness a series of twice daily forty minute shows where children will be able take part in hands on experiments like how to make slime and how to bounce custard balls.

The shows provide something for everyone from experiments, lectures, exhibitions, displays and competitions for families, and aim to show the fun side of science.

WPD’s Phil Davies, Network Services Manager for Wales said: “We are pleased to support a project which aims to make science fun and exciting for young people. It’s great that they are able to take part in a hands-on science learning experience.”

Dr Robyn Wheldon-Williams, Science Officer for the National Eisteddfod commented: “WPD’s support is invaluable to us at the Eisteddfod. It enables us to offer a wide range of activities which appeal to children and young people. The science show is always one of the most popular items in the Science and Technology pavilion and I’m sure that this year’s show will be as successful – and as unpredictable – as ever!”
